The bright fluorescent lights shone down upon her slightly damp showered body as Avery stood clad in a towel as she blow dried her hair into soft and very loose curls. Her dark locks being styled as her skin dried from the heat and air within the room.
Upon finishing her hair Avery dragged her make up bag closer to her removing her needed products to apply to her face. Opting for a less done up look Avery applied mineral foundation as a base before taking a little blush to her cheeks. Her deep brown eyes were highlighted by a mocha color shadow and upper lid lined by brown eyeliner. Her simple look being finished with a slick of rose colored gloss.
Exiting her hotel room bathroom, Avery walked towards her suitcase and pulled out khaki skinny leg pants with pockets placed down the legs and an almost mid-drift black thin sweater. Avery decided to place on some simple black toms to finish her look. She was only heading off to the grocery store with Harry today, mainly just to be seen together again considering it had been a while since the pair had made a public outing together. Also the fact that Avery had gone back to Texas for 2 nights making it hard for them to be seen together, well actually impossible considering she was in another state. Her time back home wasn’t really what she wanted but her mother insisted on it. In fact her mother was almost forcing the brunette to visit home. To visit everything she used to be.
Leaving her hotel with her phone in hand she jumped into her car and drove off down the main road and towards the nearest target the pair had agreed to meet at. Cracking the window just a tad as the air started to transition slightly colder as the sky around her started to fade into sunset the brunette teen turned the volume of her radio up just a tad. Her hand hitting the steering wheel to the beat of domino by Jessie J who was on the radio.
Within no time Avery was in the near empty parking lot finding the nearest parking space to the entrance. Avery turned off her cars engine and hopped out of her seat once she’d opened her door, the brunette noticing Harrys car straight away. She’d seen it enough times now. The curly haired fellow was leaning casually against it as he waited for her, the petite girl jogging over to him once she saw him.
“Well hey stranger” she greeted as the pair began to walk towards the entrance of the store.
Groaning as he woke up, Harry shook his head and turned around into his pillow. “Life sucks. Everything sucks.” he mumbled, voice deep and groggy from sleep even though it was nearing dusk. The emerald eyed boy didn’t actually mean any of what he said, obviously. Well… maybe a part of it, but then again most people felt the same anyways. He was just tired and cranky.
Pushing himself off the bed, he thought of what had gone down last night and he shuddered, trying to push away the horrible and haunting memory, promising never again and hoping with everything he had that he could keep that promise. But in the back of his mind, he knew he wouldn’t be able to. ‘You’ll go running back because you’re weak.’ “Shut the fuck up.” he said with a mumbled laugh to himself, feeling a bit psychotic as he stepped into the shower, washing away his dreadful thoughts as the steam surrounded him, feeling so… familiar.
Drying himself down with the towel, he threw it onto the floor, something Harry would never typically do, but then again, he hadn’t been himself as of late. Or maybe he was too much of himself. Or maybe… ‘Shut up with your idiotic thoughts.’ and for once, that stupid little voice didn’t hurt because now, it was normal and he was used to the put downs. They were just a constant reminder of his pathetic existence and that was that.
Simple, but effective.
Ruffling his hair a few times, he walked out the door and down the street to the nearby Target. Walking inside the store, he was surrounded by red everywhere. Just one, plain monotonous lego red color. It reminded him of their tacky uniform from the tour, but at the same time it was reminiscent. Sweet. Until the voice kicked in. ‘Made you look fatter.’
He bought a pack of gum, popping a piece in his mouth and chewing, slipping on his aviators even though the sun was slowly fading. Slipping the packet into his mouth, he leaned against the wall outside, waiting for Avery. “Hi.” he said simply, much like his idiotic tattoo did. Shooting her a smile, he wrapped an arm over her shoulders and pulled her close, it feeling oh so natural now as they walked inside. Pulling up a cart, he pulled off his sunglasses, tucking them into his shirt on the opening at the nape of his neck. “What should we get first babe?” he asked, still grinning.
The simplicity of his shoulder drape as the pair walked into the target in front of them now feeling not so forced. Actually most things they did these days just felt like routine, it was no longer sickening.
Avery snaked her arm around his waist. Routine. There wasn’t anything to it anymore. It honestly just felt normal.
Avery turned her head up to look at the tall fellow intertwined with her as he spoke out his question. The brunette skimming over the large store thinking over anything she needed.
"I need to grab just a cheap ass red lipstick to draw on a mirror with" she stated through a giggle, speaking out her sentence realizing it sounded a tad odd.
"It so much less ‘fined for damage of property’ then it sounds" she defended herself light heartedly as she gave his waist a tug to move him towards the direction of the cosmetics department of the store.
The teen approached the sectioned off area still wrapped with Harry as she walked him through it looking towards the different brands. Her eyes analyzing the contrast of reds different cosmetic companies had. The brown eyes of the brunette looked over happily at the perfect red. Even though this wasn’t for her lips, or face in general, when it came to coloring in makeup she seemed to want the perfect color. Even if it was for drawing on a reflective surface.
"Alright perfect" she started off, relieved she had the one thing she was set out for tonight.
"Now lets get what you need, i’m sure your list is bigger then mine" she laughed leading the boy out of foreign territory.
